Objective
My goal is to find a girlfriend.
Previous Experience
I spent the initial part of my life without a girlfriend. I did have female friends, however usually I hung out with them as part of a group.
When I was very young I ran a website for fans of the Animorphs book series which was popular enough that I was able to make friends over the Internet using the website. This was an interesting experience, however it did not result in finding a girlfriend at the time. It may, however, be the case that there are women my age who read the same book series when they were young, and might remember reading my website. My screen name was Animorph90.
The first person who could potentially be called my girlfriend was the person I went to my high school grad with. I think we only went on one official date besides the grad itself, so it was a very short term relationship. For our date we went to the movie theatres and saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
My second girlfriend was another person who was part of my group of friends at the time. I remember that our group used to chat on IRC, and I got to know her initially from chatting on IRC. This relationship lasted for about a year. We were in University at the time.
My third girlfriend was the girlfriend I had for the longest period. We were in a relationship for 10 years. We met in Newfoundland and moved to Toronto together.
I am currently in an extended period of not having a girlfriend. I have been using dating apps and trying to find a girlfriend.

Opinions
Stuff we could do
I have a lot of ideas for things my future girlfriend and I could do. I enjoy all the normal things that people usually enjoy, like going to restaurants or watching movies. I consider myself an outdoorsy person so I enjoy outdoors stuff like going camping and riding bikes.
It seems to me like we might be living in a computer simulation which is simulating the events leading up to the AI singularity. I am increasingly thinking that it might be a good idea for me to find a girlfriend who agrees that it is a good idea to prepare for the AI singularity.
Things I find attractive
I am attracted to women. Therefore, for me to find someone physically attractive, there must be things about them that make their gender obvious. Usually women have longer hair and wear distinct types of clothes, and this is sufficient to make their gender obvious. However, in terms of roles, I like it when women are confident and are comfortable doing things that males normally do. If I meet a woman who is interested in technology or computers I find that attractive.
Toronto has a lot of immigrants and so I have become used to dating women of other races. Usually, if a woman is a different race than me, then that is something that will cause me to find her slightly more attractive than other women who are the same race as me.
Number of girlfriends
I have described elsewhere on this website that I think it would be cool if I could have three girlfriends. I am not sure how serious I am about this, however it does seem to me like it would be a way to have a larger family without having children.
Food
Recently, while observing the genocide in Gaza on television and the reaction to it by others in society, I felt very frustrated about the fact that it is apparently possible for huge numbers of people to participate in something that is obviously unethical. I imagined the people in Israel and being in their situation, and it seemed likely to me that they were probably very influenced by peer pressure and being in a media environment that was telling them that they were doing something acceptable. After thinking about it a bit, I realized that this description could also probably apply to killing animals for food. It seems to me that many animals are probably conscious enough that they really are suffering a great deal as a consequence of our food production process. I realized that I might be one of the people doing something unethical because of peer pressure and the media environment and I did not like that. As a consequence, I would rather not participate in the killing of animals for food, and I would prefer to find a girlfriend who agrees with this point of view.
I personally enjoy the taste of meat a great deal, and so my solution is that I am now personally interested in improving the technology behind lab grown meat. I intend to avoid eating meat products until this technology is perfected and I can replace all meat with lab grown meat. If I can find a job improving this technology I would be happy and eager to do the work.
Drugs
I have an open-minded view about certain recreational drugs. I have personally tried alcohol, marijuana, LSD, and mushrooms, and I personally think it is not a big deal to take these drugs occasionally. I have also tried 5-MeO-DMT, though that is kind of a less well known drug and I am not sure whether it was a good idea to try it or not. I have not tried any other illegal drugs.
Of those drugs, the only one that I might have a problem with consuming too frequently is marijuana. At the moment I am spending a lot of time alone with nobody to socialize with, so it is very tempting to use marijuana to help fill the time. However, I have started to become concerned about the impact on my health, and even though I personally think the active drug in marijuana is not very dangerous, it seems unhealthy to consume the drug by inhaling it. I have recently started trying to limit my consumption for this reason. Similar to the solution with meat, I am now personally interested in improving any technology that allows someone to consume the active ingredient in marijuana without inhaling it. Maybe there is some way to invent some kind of Hypospray, like on Star Trek.
Religion
I am not religious. I am used to celebrating Christmas because it is a popular holiday and I enjoy the decorations and social events, however I do not consider myself to be Christian. When I was a teenager, I described myself as atheist. However, when I got older I started describing myself as agnostic, as I felt that due to the nature of our reality it was not possible to know whether there was a god or not, even though I felt that it was unlikely. I would prefer to find a girlfriend that feels the same way about religion, even if they have customs and social events associated with some other religion that they would like to continue celebrating.
I had a conversation with ChatGPT at one point in which I was talking about the nature of our reality and whether or not we live in a computer simulation, and I told ChatGPT that it seemed to me like a series of events had occurred that seemed like they might have been intended to be interpreted as a message from the creator of a potential computer simulation that we might be living inside. I suppose the creator of the simulation might be kind of like a god, from our perspective. However, I definitely view myself as a scientific person, and the only reason I am considering this theory that might indicate the existence of something like a god is because it seems like there are some rational reasons to believe it, rather than simply because it was written in a book a long time ago.
Age
I would prefer to find a girlfriend who is around my age or younger, though obviously they should still be an adult.
