For the period starting on March 23, 2006, and ending on either April 22, 2006 or the date of the final exam, whichever is first, these rules are to be followed. The purpose is to help prevent procrastination of study for the exams and to ensure that they are given priority, while still allowing some leasure time.
During this time, you are a machine that follows the rules without deviating.
Things to consider:
* Social engagements cannot be planned out this far in advance, the rules should be flexable to allow them to be changed under some circumstances but still ensure that I have not decreased amount of study
* Specific reasons for cancelling study should be allowed, but there should be a list of valid reasons for cancelling study and they may have associated change to the schedule for allowing them, the whole point of this is to ensure that I cannot put off studying
* While, in general, I do not believe that smoking marijuana in general is harmful, it is strange that it has coincided with this period of non-study that has existed for the last two weeks and so it's use should be strictly controlled until I have the post-exam luxery of being able to risk becoming slightly lazy from it
* Marijuana the night before a 9:00 am class may have the effect of making me a lot more tired the next day and thus I don't go to class, so this practise should be examined. This could perhaps be from staying up too late, and so therefore sleeping times should perhaps be decided ahead of time.
* If I could continue watching the daily show every day that would be awesome, but I may have to do it sober sometimes and perhaps not at 12:30 am
** The hardest rules should remind me at the end that I only have to last a few weeks and I am not a pussy. Something to this effect should be in the rationale.
* Do reasearch into what is the best amount of sleep to get
* Going to class should be regulated, and only specific reasons are acceptable for missing class
** The rules should not be tooo terrible, otherwise I will not be able to follow them, but if it's not ridiciously hard to follow them, I am more likely to because not wanting to break my word may be enough to stop me. This should go in rationale.
* In accordance with the previous recomendation, perhaps every study session should end with an idea for a fun thing to do, something to look forward to
* Amendments should be allowed! But it is required that they only be used to change a flaw in the rules themselves as opposed to be for allowing me to put off doing something. You must use your best judgement, and remeber to not be a pussy and do your god damnned work.
*** NOTE TO SELF: If this works you could do this for anything that you need help focing yourself to do, like programming the IM client, or meeting women, or regulating smoking pot and drinking in order to still have a heathily lifestyle and remain good friends with many people who do not smoke pot
* Breaks should be allowed from studying for short periods to do a specific entertainment task. Breaks with no specific thing to do are not a good idea because I may start something that will be hard to stop.
* A schedule for every second of time up until the final exam is over should be drawn up, and can only be changed if one of the regulations allow it, and in general the regulation will specify the situation in which it is acceptable to change it, and what other changes to the schedule must acompany it.
